How to become a Top Yapper on Kaito Mindshare Leaderboard
I consistently appear on the Somnia Mindshare leaderboards, even though my account isn’t that big and my core audience wasn’t familiar with Somnia before. Here’s the secret.

What Is Yapper Mindshare?
First, you must know what the yapper mindshare is and understand how it works.
Mindshare measures how much influence and visibility your account brings to a specific project. It reflects your share of voice within that project’s ecosystem.
Factors that contribute to Mindshare on a project-specific leaderboard:
Posting relevant, focused content about the project, detailed insights carry more weight than broad overviews.
Real, weighted engagement from a diverse range of respected CT (Crypto Twitter) accounts.
Prioritizing original and thoughtful commentary over spammy or repetitive posts.
Advocating for the project’s vision and values in a meaningful way.
Mindshare Strategy
Choose the Right Projects
Picking the right projects can make or break your yapper journey.
Depending on your account size (follower count) and average impression, choose the projects you truly care about and want to yap about.
Pick projects you genuinely understand, where you know what you're talking about and can dive deep into the community.
There are many projects out there. Why did I choose Somnia?
Besides their solid foundation, I noticed they have a strong focus on gaming, which aligns well with my audience, who are also gaming-focused. You’ll see that around 80% of my Somnia content is about games. I’m also yapping about Aptos because I’ve been with it since the testnet days.
Avoid picking too many projects, or worse, projects you don’t understand:
You won’t have enough time to deeply learn about all of them.
You’ll only scratch the surface and never build true connections.
You won’t be able to engage meaningfully with the community, which is your strongest support base.
Imagine you have to post about 10 projects, which is 10 posts daily. With a small following, X’s algorithm won’t keep pushing your content repeatedly.
I’ve seen many Yappers wonder why their rank isn’t improving, often posting the same repetitive AI-generated content about projects they barely understand.
And remember, Kaito has boosting factors:
Accounts that consistently post about a specific project, demonstrating loyalty
Accounts with higher reputation and quality engagement history
In the future, accounts that allocate a higher percentage of their yaps to a specific project Leaderboard, signalling stronger alignment
Your content must be unique
Write your own posts, don’t just copy and paste information from a project’s whitepaper or rely 100% on AI-generated content.
If you keep doing that, your posts will end up looking exactly like the majority of other yapper accounts out there, meaning no views, no engagement, and no visibility from X’s algorithm.
Of course, you can borrow ideas from others, but express them in your own way.
And to create content with that kind of personal touch, you need to understand the project and the community. You have to truly become a part of the community to gain the insights and ideas worth writing about. That’s also what I mentioned earlier.
Image is important
The image in your post is very important. In addition to writing good content, your post also needs an eye-catching image or video, something that makes people stop scrolling and start reading what you wrote.
Just like with written content, instead of reposting someone else’s image, try editing it a bit or creating a completely new one. You can use tools like Canva or an AI image generator.
Be a reply guy
The best strategy to grow on X as a small account is to be a reply guy. This will help you connect with other yappers, let them see your content on their feed, and even gain you more followers.
My average reply count to Somnia_Network Yappers alone is around 150 replies per day, with a minimum of 100 replies even on my busiest days, along with an X Premium subscription. Learn how important the Premium subscription on X is here.
To make meaningful replies, dive into the ecosystem, help others with their quests, don’t just skim the surface.
And don’t hesitate to strengthen your connections through DMs.
Special tips: Reply 30 minutes before & after you post is a growth hack.
Quality of the engagements
As I’ve mentioned, accounts with higher reputation and a history of quality engagement have an advantage in gaining mindshare, not just for themselves, but also for the people they engage with. Therefore:
Make sure your replies are meaningful, not spam.
Connect with Smart Followers accounts or those currently at the top of the leaderboard.
Build your list of quality accounts and try to get their attention.
This is an undervalued feature on X. You can add all the people you want to connect with to the list, engage with them daily until they notice you. Remember to be kind, meaningful, and don’t be an AI or spammer.
Sometimes you might get ignored simply because big accounts receive tons of notifications daily, it's easy for them to miss you.

Consistency is the key
There are 5 available leaderboards: 7D - 30D - 3M - 6M - 12M. Leaderboards operate on a rolling time window, only activities from the defined time period (eg last 7 days, last 30 days) count, and older contributions roll off.
Missing one day can kick you off the leaderboard.
For example, you consistently score 0.2% mindshare each day for a week. Your 7D avg mindshare is 0.2%.
If you miss one day, then your average mindshare is only 0.17%. That’s a huge gap.
